From my artist’s statement:
“ I'm fascinated by the surreal shifts in perceived reality and accepted truths within our societies. My work often challenges assumptions and renders visible ideas that flit at the edge of perception. I sculpt slowly, in warm communication with the clay, and allow each piece to evolve organically. The resulting works are introspective and enigmatic, and pose multiple questions: questions about lived experience, symbiotic relationships, and transformation; about disability, gender, and silence; and about empathy and the quiet dignity of acceptance. Arrival inhabits a liminal world and explores the fluctuation and evolution of both the inner self and the physical body in response to personal, societal, and environmental forces that are often beyond one’s control. “
